Nearly 80% of cardiac events can be prevented, but still cardiovascular diseases continue to be a woman’s greatest health threat. Why? One of the main reasons is that as women, we work hard for our family, friends, communities and more, but we don’t put our health first. The American Heart Association’s signature women’s initiative, Go Red for Women®, is designed to increase women’s heart health awareness and serve as a catalyst for change to improve the lives of women globally. It’s no longer just about wearing red; it’s no longer just about sharing heart health facts. It’s about all women making a commitment to stand together with Go Red and taking charge of their own heart health as well as the health of those they can’t bear to live without.
Please join us on National Wear Red Day (February 7, 2020) at the Aurora Chamber of Commerce’s Women In Business: Unsung Heroes Luncheon. At the event, hear from Maddie Philley of the American Heart Association who will bring awareness to the widespread impact that heart disease has on women and highlight ways we can be heart healthy together.
