Mitch Peritz is the founder of the Youth Rising-Up Initiative (YRUI), a Colorado-based nonprofit focused on preventing human trafficking and the exploitation of youth through experiential, creative arts-based education. His work helps young people recognize manipulation, build awareness, and respond to real-world risks.
YRUI equips youth with tools that extend beyond trafficking prevention, addressing the challenges of today’s world—including social media and AI influence, post-COVID isolation, the sexual objectification of youth, and related mental health pressures.
Mitch holds a Master of Social Work focused on human trafficking and brings over 40 years of experience in integrative health and human development. His work emphasizes early intervention, resilience, and empowerment through community-based education.
