PURPOSE OF VISIT AURORA INC.
Visit Aurora is a 501(c)(6) Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) that creates, plans and implements sales, marketing, and public relations programs that attract conventions, trade shows, media and leisure travelers into Aurora, Colorado, thereby ensuring the area of certain economic benefits.
 
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Sales Coordinator position is responsible for effective and consistent support of sales activities and processes, supporting sales group projects and initiatives, documenting activities in the Visit Aurora CRM, processing meetings and other opportunities, maintaining an awareness of Aurora as a destination, and cultivating relationships and engagement with Visit Aurora clients and stakeholders in accordance with the objectives set forth in the Visit Aurora sales plan of work.

COMPENSATION +BENEFITS+WORK ENVIRONMENT
· $22.00-$24.04/hour, approximately $45,760.00-$50,000.00 annually

NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION
The Sales Coordinator is responsible for contributing to the mission and vision of Visit Aurora, and for marketing and selling Aurora as a conference and meeting destination. The functions for which this position is responsible include:

SUPERVISORY RELATIONS
  • This position reports to the Director of Sales.
BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Associate degree in Business, Hospitality, Tourism or related field
  • Minimum of 6+ months experience in a hospitality setting
  • Knowledge of sales activities and processes, account management, and reporting
  • Knowledge of the contracting process and best practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills including: digital, phone, public speaking, and reporting to committees and boards
  • Ability to identify and cultivate productive and lasting relationships with clients, members, stakeholders, etc.
  • Knowledge of Aurora as a convention and meeting destination
  • Experience utilizing a cloud-based CRM
  • Proficiency in industry resources including: Mint, Knowland, etc.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Supporting Sales Activities & Processes
  • Consistently and efficiently support sales processes to create and maintain account, contact, lead, and distribution lists
  • Provide regular reports of activities and processes
  • Follow consistent and productive sales processes
Supporting Sales Group Projects and Initiatives
  • Support assigned sales group projects, including CRM management, research, site experiences, FAM experiences, trade shows, etc.
CRM Utilization
  • Utilize the Visit Aurora CRM consistently and efficiently
  • Ensure that all assigned accounts, contacts, and data are correct and periodically checked for accuracy and relevance
  • Ensure that all assigned sales activities and processes are correctly entered and tracked
Event Coordination
  • Coordination and execution of off-premises and virtual events, and managing internal and external relationships
  • Assist in preparing for special events and presentations, securing booth space, and working with vendors for upcoming shows.
  • Potential to assist other departments as requested or for special projects
Processing Meeting and Other Opportunities
  • Assist with assigned collection and/or directed creation of proposals and bid presentations
Economic Impact
  • Support generating opportunities for economic impact through lead generation and sharing those opportunities with Visit Aurora hotels
  • Support generating and recording estimated economic impact using industry-recognized economic impact calculators and the Visit Aurora CRM
  • Provide regular reports of economic impact
Destination Awareness
  • Develop and maintain an awareness of Aurora as a destination for convention and meeting business
  • Cultivate an awareness of Aurora as a destination for convention and meeting business amongst stakeholders, clients, and within the industry
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Identify and cultivate productive and lasting relationships with stakeholders, clients, and community members
  • Cultivate productive relationships with Visit Aurora hotels through frequent and consistent communication, engagement, networking events, educational events, etc.
  • Cultivate productive relationships with existing and potential clients through frequent and consistent communication and engagement
SECONDARY DUTIES
Performs other activities as may be assigned by the Director of Sales. This job description reflects the assignment of essential functions. It does not restrict tasks that may be assigned.
