In this workshop we discuss WordPress themes in detail:
• what themes are
• how themes work
• what they do to your site and how they do it
• how to find themes that will work with plugins or be mobile device-friendly
• how to find themes with specific colors, designs, or columns
• how to tell good ones from bad ones
• how to work with mobile themes on a budget
• how to go through the WordPress free theme directory and tell which ones are least likely to have viruses or spyware in theme
• premium themes vs. free themes vs. custom themes
• pick appropriate themes and working with them
• what are Genesis/Thesis/Headway themes and how do they impact WordPress?
• what to look for in custom themes/free themes/premium themes
We will be located on the second floor, in the Community Room. We will begin on-time, so arrive early if you have specific questions or would like to chat or network.
From 5:30 to 6 PM will be reserved for set up, networking, and any quick questions anyone may have before we begin.
