Language, Communication & Influence
The Language, Communication and Influence session focuses on what constitutes effective communication in the workplace. Participants will adopt a style that increases their ability to gain influence and succeed as they progress through the organization. They will increase their ability to use a wider range of skills to achieve their desired outcomes by:
- Moving from low-power to high-power speech
- Increasing awareness of potentially harmful conversational rituals that have become habits
- Understanding how some forms of body language affect perceptions of confidence and competence
Erin Wolf is a nationally-recognized speaker, executive coach and consultant in the areas of leadership development, diversity, organizational change, and organizational strategy. She has more than 30 years of experience and has worked for well-known firms such as Bain & Company, Goldman Sachs, Accenture and Salomon Brothers Inc.
She is currently the Managing Partner of SuiteTrack, a firm dedicated to helping companies advance their high-potential professionals and future leaders in the workplace. Erin is also the Founding Director of The Coles College of Business Women?s Leadership Center at Kennesaw State University, a 36,000-student institution, where she taught Capstone Strategy and Leadership classes in the business school.
Her early experience in investment banking included positions in corporate finance and fixed income derivatives hedging. She subsequently worked for Bain & Company, one of the leading strategic consulting firms in the world, and then two $1 billion companies in the Atlanta area where she held titles of Chief Strategy Officer and Executive Team member.
Erin sits on or has previously sat on the boards of Women?s Leadership of Harvard University?s Kennedy School, the Harvard Business School Club of Atlanta, The Atlanta Girls School, Homrich Berg Wealth Management, Girls Inc., and Girls on the Run.
A former nationally ranked tennis player and scholarship athlete, Erin received her BA Magna Cum Laude in Economics and Spanish from Duke University and her MBA from Harvard University. Erin?s publications include two books, Lessons From the Trenches and If I Knew Then What I Know Now. In 2018, she delivered a TEDTalk in Nashville and regularly speaks to audiences across the country about sports, strategy and leadership.
The Women In Business committee serves as a voice for all women in business, acting as an advocate on issues that affect their professional growth and long-term economic vitality.
