TMCA Electronic Recycling Fundraiser

The Medical Center of Aurora (TMCA) is hosting an Electronic Recycling Fundraiser to benefit Food Bank of the Rockies. For a small donation, unwanted electronics can be safely disposed of by delivering them to TMCA on Friday, September 13^th from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM or Saturday, September 14^th from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Electronics and donations will be accepted at TMCA’s main campus, located at 1501 S. Potomac Street in Aurora. Please follow signs to the North parking lot. A tax-deductible donation of $10.00 is requested for the recycling of 1-10 items, and $20.00 for 11 or more items. Donations are payable to ‘Food Bank of the Rockies.’ Cash or check will be accepted for both donations and any applicable service fees for oversized items.

Acceptable electronics include nearly anything with a plug or circuit board, excluding items that contain Freon, coolants, oils or fuels. Examples of items eligible for recycling include, but are not limited to, televisions, computers, medical equipment (with NO bio-hazard), fax machines, cell phones, office electronics and DVD players. Additional service charges apply for oversized televisions and computer monitors: $5.00 for monitors up to 20 inches; $10.00 for monitors and TV’s over 20 inches. These service fees are payable to ‘Electronic Recyclers’.

The Medical Center of Aurora is proud to partner with Food Bank of the Rockies, the largest private hunger-relief organization in the state of Colorado. Since 1978, Food Bank of the Rockies has provided nearly 472 million pounds of food to member agencies, which translates to 369 million meals for people in need. Last year, they distributed 41.3 million pounds of food, enough to provide 88,000 meals each day to children, seniors and families in need.
