Tamale Festival by Fitzsimons Credit Union
As the name suggests, the festival will offer numerous types of tamales, the traditional Mexican dish of masa dough steamed in corn husks. The tamale dough can be savory or sweet, often filled with meat, cheese, vegetables, or fruit. In addition to tamales, other Latin-inspired food will be available, including tacos, burritos, and nachos. The beer garden will feature 40 different craft beers from local and regional breweries.
The Tamale Festival by Fitzsimons Credit Union will have activities for every age group, from bounce houses and face painting to a photo booth and a rock climbing wall. Guests will be entertained throughout the festival by local mariachi musicians; live Selena tribute band, Anything for Selenas; and folklórico dancers.
General admission tickets are available for $5, with additional ticket options for VIP and beer tastings. Children under 12 are free. Proceeds from the beer garden will benefit the YMCA of Metropolitan Denver. The event is supported by Fitzsimons Credit Union, Visit Aurora, and the City of Aurora.
