Award winning professional modern dance company, Kim Robards Dance, and noted music ensemble, Colorado Chamber Players, will present two evenings of dance and live music, Musings on Music and Motion. Critically acclaimed choreographer/Artistic Director Kim Robards will create and present original modern dance works played live.
Ms. Robards’ whimsical work Night at the Museum will bring to life nearly two dozen works of art from throughout the ages, ranging from paintings to sculptures. Dancers move between being observers to the works of art themselves, taking all on a journey through time. The work is set to the four movements of Acht Stuecke, op. 83, for Clarinet, Viola and Piano by Max Bruch.
Also on the program is Ms. Robards’ work Endless Flow. Set to the three movements of Sonata op. 120 no. 1, Eb Major for Viola and Piano by Johannes Brahms, the work takes a classical modern approach, flowing seamlessly with the rich viola tones.
Colorado Chambers Players brings musicians Daniel Silver, Clarinet; Barbara Hamilton, Viola;
and Andrew Cooperstock, Piano.
Steinway Artist Andrew Cooperstock will play piano solo “Ballade in g minor, op. 23” by Frederic Chopin.
Musings on Music and Motion will open on Saturday, October 15 at 7:30 PM at The Armory, 300 Strong Street, Brighton. The concert repeats on Sunday, October 16 at 1:00 at The KRD Venue, 9990 East Colfax Avenue, Aurora. Tickets are $5.00-$20.00.
