DESCRIPTION:The Women In Business committee is to serve as a voice for all women in business\, acting as an advocate on issues that affect their professional growth and long term economic vitality.\n\n\n\nHeartMath: The Art and Science of Resiliency\n\nOur lives as women are challenging. We are professionals\, family members and individuals who have many competing responsibilities. We often give so much to the people and things that we care so deeply for that we may be left feeling depleted and ineffective. This discussion will present the science behind these feelings\, facilitate self-awareness and explore strategies to promote resiliency in the face of stress. \n\n\n\nDiscussion Objectives:\n\n        Explore the physiology behind emotions experienced everyday\n\n        Review domains of resilience\n\n        Discover the science behind relational energetics\n\n        Review practical tools to assist in stress awareness and regulation\n\n\n\nSpeaker Bio: \n\nShannon Bortolotto is a certified Clinical Nurse Specialist in Acute and Critical Care Nursing   Adult with 25 years of experience in critical care and systems practice. Shannon is the Clinical Nurse Specialist Supervisor in the Department of Professional Development at the University of Colorado Hospital (UCH)\, where she provides leadership and practice oversight for a team of advanced practice nurses. \n\n\n\nAs the CNS for the division of Critical Care\, Shannon ensures that best evidence is translated into practice.  Shannon has multiple publications and academic presentations covering pulmonary medicine\, delirium prevention and progressive mobility for the critically ill\, nursing orientation and the patient experience during mechanical ventilation. Shannon conducts research and quality improvement in areas of experiential science and clinician resiliency.  \n\n\n\nShannon is a certified instructor and Program Director for HeartMath \, the art and science of stress management and resiliency practices for UCHealth.  She cares deeply about coaching to effectively manage stress response for healthcare professionals experiencing compassion fatigue. \n\n \nMs. Bortolotto serves as a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN).
