SUMMARY:LA Fundraiser - Seb’s Recreation Center Donation Page
DESCRIPTION:The Leadership Aurora Class 2026 has had the chance to see the heart of our community up close this year and together\, we've chosen to dedicate our class project to supporting S b's Recreation Center (SRC). S b's is much more than a fitness space - it's a 501(c)(3) nonprofit built on inclusion\, community\, and empowerment. Since opening its doors in January 2018\, SRC has created a welcoming\, fully accessible environment for individuals with special needs older adults\, families\, and caregivers. It's a place where people of all abilities come together to connect grow\, and thrive through recreation fitness\, arts\, education\, and meaningful social engagement. The center offers wheelchair-accessible fitness equipment\, adaptive personal training\, arts and crafts\, sensory activities\, board games\, video games\, puzzles\, movies\, and so much more.\n\n\n\nWith strong community momentum and the support of our class project\, we have an opportunity to help transform the SRC facility so it can serve even more community members and serve them even better!\n\n\n\nOur priorities for this project include:\n\n	100% Accessibility - 100% Community - Improving mobility flow for wheelchair users\; adding flexible\, movable furniture and rolling storage\; strengthening high-use community rooms\; and enhancing kitchen storage and functionality.\n	Privacy & Dignity - Creating confidential\, secure office and meeting areas to support private conversations\, personnel needs\, and one-on-one services.\n	Smarter\, More Inclusive Use of Space - Reconfiguring therapeutic\, fitness\, arcade\, and community zones so they work and flow cohesively\, converting the current fitness room into a new community area\; adding overhead storage\; and exploring a dedicated art wall to celebrate creativity\, as well as a custom mural. \n\n To help bring this vision to life\, the Leadership Aurora Class of 2026 is inviting support from local businesses and especially from the employers who have invested in their team members by sponsoring their participation in this program. All class members are encouraged to connect with their workplace and share this opportunity. Many organizations are eager to support meaningful community work\; often\, they simply need a familiar\, trusted voice to guide them toward a cause that truly makes a difference.\n\n\n\nOur fundraising goal is $5\,000 in monetary donations with hopes for in-kind donations of supplies\, cabinets\, furniture\, time\, labor\, and more. Your contribution directly fuels every step of this project from planning and materials to hands on improvements that will shape SRC's future.\n\n\n\nTogether\, we can help build a space that reflects the dignity\, joy\, and potential of the people it serves.
