SUMMARY:Buckley Regional Military Affairs Council
DESCRIPTION:October BRMAC Meeting: From a Trout Stream to the Factory Floor\n\nThursday\, October 22\, 2026 | Doors open 0800 | Meeting starts 0830\, facility tour to follow\n\nPretred\, 6550 N Denali St\, Unit 100\, Aurora\, CO 80019\n\nPretred started on a Colorado river. Its founders were fly fishing when they kept running into old tires and plastic dumped along the water. Instead of just being annoyed\, they asked a simple question: what can we do about this?\n\nPretred opened its first manufacturing facility in Aurora in 2022. Earlier this year\, it grew into a new 152\,000-square-foot plant in northeast Aurora\, where it turns end-of-life tires into roadway safety barriers. Each 8-foot barrier keeps about 100 scrap tires out of landfills and burn piles\, and a mile of barrier uses more than 65\,000. At full capacity\, the new facility can process over 100 million pounds of waste tires a year and support about 100 local jobs.\n\nThese aren't novelty products. Pretred's barriers are crash-tested to federal MASH standards\, one model is rated to carry 32\,000 pounds\, and they're modular and easier to move than concrete. A damaged barrier can be ground down and made into a new one. Compared with concrete\, the company reports a much smaller carbon footprint. Goodyear\, Techstars\, and the State of Colorado have all invested in the idea.\n\nIt's the kind of story BRMAC likes to share: someone sees a problem\, builds something real to solve it\, and keeps growing right here in Aurora\, just down the road from Buckley. We'll start with our standard BRMAC meeting\, then have the opportunity to walk the production floor and learn about their process.\n\nKnow before you go:\n\n\n	Entrance: Please use the entrance on the west end of the building.\n	Parking: There's plenty of parking on site.\n	Tour requirements: Everyone on the tour must sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) before going onto the production floor\, and closed-toed shoes are required. If you'd rather skip the tour\, you're still welcome at the meeting.\n\n\nBring a colleague\, see something new\, and help us celebrate one of Aurora's homegrown manufacturers.\n\nFree to attend.
