This isn't the first government regulation update, and it won't be the last. Avitus Group exists to help businesses simplify, strengthen and grow, and when it comes to government regulation and HR law, simplify is the key. The Avitus Group Overtime Final Rule Compliance Guide is designed to help business owners nationwide easily understand the complex new regulation so that they can be in compliance when December rolls around," says Avitus Group Public Relations Manager Dianne Parker.

The company is releasing its complimentary guide to businesses across the United States in an effort to educate employers prior to the new rule taking affect December 1st, 2016. The Overtime Final Rule aims to more easily identify workers, via a salary level test, who are truly exempt vs. entitled to overtime protections through the FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act). 4.2 Million U.S. white collar EAP, or executive, administrative and professional workers, are expected to be reclassified or receive salary increases.

Avitus Group's Overtime Final Rule Compliance Guide Answers the top 4 frequently asked questions about the new regulation. It also outlines key provisions of the Overtime Final Rule, which is enforced by the U.S. Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division. The top four frequently asked questions are: What is the rule and what is it designed to do?; How will it impact employers nationwide?; What do employers need to do today to be ready by December 1st, 2016?; Economically, what is the impact nationwide?

"The Overtime Final Rule focuses on increasing the salary level needed for EAP workers to be exempt. In addition to the standard salary level doubling from more than $23,000 to more than $47,000, there's another threshold that must be met for highly compensated employees. Those employees must pass a minimal duties test and essentially the salary level is bumped from $100,000 to $134,000 annually," says Avitus Group Director of Human Resources & Risk Management Ryan Braley. "There are many factors to consider with this new regulation and Avitus Group makes sure our clients are trained so that they can be in compliance come December 1st."

The Overtime Final Rule also calls for updating the salary levels every three years. For more information on the Overtime Final Rule, Avitus Group invites businesses to review the Avitus Group Overtime Final Rule Compliance Guide.
